Legal Literacy Module

Dear Friends,

We are indeed very happy to receive an overwhelming response form the students for the development of Legal Literacy Module. In order to initiate this venture all the member students who have registered themselves under this project are required to assemble in Seminar Hall on September 13, 2012 at 1:30 pm.

Legal Literacy Module for School Children

The Legal Aid Society of Campus Law Centre has taken up a project to develop a module on legal literacy for school children studying in class IX to XII. The module should address the fundamentals of the concept & structure of law, the court system, rights & duties, etc. and then it should deal with specific issues relevant for children such as ragging, sexual harassment, drug abuse, RTI, RTE, environment, human trafficking, traffic rules, etc. This project will have 2 components:

•    Preparation of module
•    Conducting legal literacy classes in schools with the help of the module

This will be a student led project whereby the chosen students will be asked to prepare a module in a format which is attractive to children preferably containing text, cartoons and illustrations. Also we should make something in English as well as Hindi. The module will be in the form of booklet as well as a structured presentation. Once we have prepared the module then we could go to schools and other target areas to interact with children.

Dramatics- Legal Aid Society

We at the Legal Aid Society are interested in enacting stage plays as well as street plays.

We are looking for skills in:

·      Acting
·      Music/Singing
·      Script writing/selection

Interested students are required to mail their particulars at clc.legalaidsociety@gmail.com. The audition is fixed for September 11, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in seminar hall, CLC.

Orientation Programme for new members of Legal Aid Society

The orientation programme for the members of the Legal Aid Society of the Campus Law Centre for the academic session 2012-13 was held on 31st August 2012 at the Seminar Hall. The Legal Aid Society comprises of about 500 students and as such, it is one of the largest and the most vibrant societies of the Campus Law Centre. The function that started at 1:30 pm was graced by the Professor-in-charge of the Campus Law Centre- Prof. J.L Kaul, Dr. Raman Mittal (the Convener of the Legal Aid Society) and Sri Mithun ( who happens to one of the most active Legal Aid Society member of his time).
