AIM &
OBJECTIVE OF TEACHING AID CLINIC:
Every day when we the
students of Campus Law Centre enter the faculty or come out of the metro
station or go and hangout in kamla nagar, we come across many young but
helpless children either school going or non-school going. They belong from
those families who earn to live hand to mouth.
What the teaching aid
clinic has planned is to give these children a better lifestyle by way of
educating them with basic things about their life. The clinic will basically
focus on the following things:-
1. Setting
up of a Teaching Aid Clinic for underprivileged children between the age groups
of 5-12, residing in the university area.
2.
Education the children about important concerns. The below mentioned field will
be the nexus for which the Teaching Aid Clinic will be set up:
·
Health and hygiene.
·
Importance of schooling.
·
Character formation.
·
Engaging the children in conversation about their daily lives
and finding solutions.
3.
Exchanging talks with the parents of these children and jotting down their
problems and try to solve it with utmost coordination from the Ministry Of
Education.
4.
Counselling the parents for providing basic amenities to their children for
better and safe upbringing.
5.
Promoting the Right to free education guaranteed under Article 21 A of The
Constitution of India.
PROCESS OR
STEPS INVOLVED:
PROCESS
/ STEPS IN PARENTS COUNSELLING:
1.
The Counselling of the parents shall be done once a week i.e. on Saturday.
2.
Maximum number of parents to be called for counselling is 60.
3.
To make them aware about the following issues :-
·
Children security and their health concerns.
·
Importance of attending school.
4. Making them aware of Government policies:
·
Free Education under Art 21A of the constitution (RTE ACT,
2009) for children of the age group 6-14.
·
Consequences of Child Trafficking and their Exploitation.
5.
Helping the parents to attend Lectures given by NGOs on child’s rights and
right to free and compulsory education.
PROCESS
/ STEPS INVOLVED IN EDUCATING THE CHILDREN:
1.
Children to be divided into two groups – School going children and without
school children.
2. There will be 1 hour class,
5 days a week.
3. 8 class rooms in CLC will be
required and each class will have maximum of 20 children.
4. Course structure will be
different for with and without schooling children.
5. Attendance will be maintained
and total number of children will not exceed 140.
6.
A follow up will be prepared for each child, which will also be communicated
to the parents at the time of counselling.
7. Provide them with basic
stationery such as notebook, pencil.
8. Conducting recreational
activities for the children at least once a week.
PERSONS TO
BE ENGAGED FOR THE CLINIC:
1. The entire Juvenile
Justice & Child Rights group. They will design the whole course structure
for the teaching Aid Clinic.
2. The Legal Awareness Group. They will assist the
Juvenile Group to spread the word through posters and notices.
3.
The Media Group. They will report the problems of parents in a proper format to
the legal aid clinic for effective communication to the Ministry Of Education.
4.
The Dramatics Group. They will be spreading the problem throughout the campus
by engaging themselves for various Street Plays or Stage Plays.
5.
The teachers who are there as members and teacher conveners. They will be
supervising the entire Clinic and the mode of work. They will also be engaged
in counselling the parents.
6. All the shortlisted members of The Legal Aid Society will be the teachers in the clinic along with any teacher who would voluntarily
take initiative to teach the children. People from various NGO’s will also be
invited to be a part of the Teaching Aid Faculty.
RESOURCES REQUIRED:
·
ALLOCATION OF ADEQUATE FUNDS FOR PETTY EXPENSES OF THE
TEACHING AID CLINIC.
·
ALLOCATION OF CLASS ROOMS IN CLC.
·
ALLOCATION OF A SEPARATE ROOM WHERE THE ENTIRE WORK OF
TEACHING AID CLINIC CAN BE DONE SEPARATELY.
