Dramatic Society Auditions
“It was only a smile, nothing more. It didn't make everything
all right. It didn't make ANYTHING all right. Only a smile. A tiny thing. A
leaf in the woods, shaking in the wake of a startled bird's flight. But I'll
take it. With open arms. Because when spring comes, it melts the snow one flake
at a time, and maybe I just witnessed the first flake melting.”

Students, teacher convenor & teacher
co-convenors, student convenor and group heads… all assembled at the auditorium
at around 2:30 pm for the Dramatic Auditions, 2013. The script for the audition
was prepared by Mr. Varun Bansal, a final year student who is also the Dramatic
Group Head. The session started around 2:45 pm. Students were asked to perform
in a group of three, as per the demand of the script. Artists use their body or
voice to convey artistic expression, in front of an audience using
combinations of speech and gestures. At the end, a performance was also given
by the Student Convenor himself along with two Group Heads. The event concluded
by 3:30 pm. in the afternoon. Lastly, it was announced that every individual
who performed will be a part of the Dramatics Group although the assignment of
roles for any drama will be on the basis of their ranking in the results, which
would soon be declared.
Apart from various technical and
procedural difficulties, the event was a success and was characterised by harmony,
productivity, effective problem-solving efforts and full development of the
potential of the group and the individuals in the group.
“Vision without
action is daydream. Action without vision is nightmare.” So, with several
expectations in our hearts we wish the team good luck to put on a great
show!
